Interact

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people.

Interact has an emblem of its own. All Interact members wear badges with the emblem invested them by the city Rotarians.

The Club “Interact-Cherkasy” was founded on November 23, 2003 on the initiative of the Rotary Club “Cherkasy-Centre”. At first students from several schools gathered in the building of Specialized School #17, and this school had been the meeting place of the Club by May 31, 2008. The Club was officially registered in Cherkasy city council by message under date of 23. 01. 04.

Interactors profess an annual slogan of the Rotary Club. 2011-2012 Rotary slogan is REACH WITHIN TO EMBRACE HUMANITY.

The Club marked its 5th anniversary on November 20, 2008. Since September 1, 2009 the Club has moved to Cherkasy First City Gymnasia.

The priorities of the Club are still:

• aid for the orphans in the regional orphanage for children under age “TEPLIY DIM” (“WARM HOUSE”) (tel: 0472-642200, 0472-642200);
• aid for the children of the specialized pre-school institution # 7;
• participation in telecommunication projects.

The Club is actively involved in one-year youth exchanges. So, in 2009-2010 Interactor Roman Smolyar is studying in the USA on the Rotarian educational program. The documents of two more Gymnasia students who want to take part in the program have been sent.
